Indian Capital Wakes up to a Shivery, Rainy Morning, Setting Twitterati Abuzz Over Cold Wave

Thousands of farmers have been protesting against agricultural laws on Delhi’s outskirts for the last month, where the temperature hit 1.1 degrees Celsius on New Year’s Day, the lowest this winter so far. It was also the lowest minimum temperature recorded in Delhi in the last 15 years in January.

Many parts of Delhi and its neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana woke up on Saturday to a wintry and rainy morning as northern India continued to battle with chilly weather.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that light to moderate rains along with thunderstorms may be witnessed in the country’s northern region in the next few hours.
