Thousands Protest in Brazil Against President to Support COVID-19 Vaccination – Reports

BUENOS AIRES (Sputnik) – Thousands of Brazilians took to the streets in the country’s largest cities to protest against the policies of President Jair Bolsonaro and show support for the vaccination program against COVID-19, Brazilian media reported on Saturday.

According to the G1 news portal, protests began in the morning and have taken place in at least 15 capitals of Brazilian states, including Brasilia, the nation’s capital.

Brazil’s pandemic death toll topped 500,000 on Saturday with at least 17.8 million people infected. Bolsonaro has repeatedly criticized COVID-19 vaccines and claimed that the pandemic is not real, despite himself testing positive July 2020.
