Moscow Expels Estonian Diplomat Responding to Similar Move by Tallinn

Earlier this month, Russia expelled three diplomats from Poland, Germany and Sweden after their participation in unauthorised rallies in support of Russian opposition blogger Alexei Navalny.

Moscow has expelled an Estonian diplomat in response to a similar move by Tallinn, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

Zakharova added that Estonia has expelled a Russian diplomat without any reason and Russia summoned Estonia’s ambassador to register its displeasure about the matter.

Earlier this month, three diplomats from Poland, Germany and Sweden were expelled from Russia after participating in unauthorised rallies in support of jailed opposition activist Alexei Navalny. In retaliation, Warsaw, Berlin and Stockholm expelled Russian diplomats.
