Fire Breaks Out at Equinor Plant in Norway, Firefighters Say

Norwegian firefighters reported on Wednesday that a fire had broken out at Equinor’s plant at Tjeldbergodden.

No information about possible casualties or damages has been reported yet.

The Tjeldbergodden facility houses three plants, namely a methanol plant, which is Europe’s largest of its kind, a gas receiving terminal, and an air separation plant.

​Equinor ASA is a Norwegian energy company operating in 36 countries. Although it’s primarily a petroleum company, it also invests in renewable energy.
