Germany has moved to ramp up restrictions after registering an uptick in the number of the coronavirus infections observed since early August. The new set of measures has been met with criticism by certain groups who have called for protests in various German cities.
Sputnik is live from Konstanz, Germany as protesters are flocking to the streets for a rally against the government’s measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus infection.
The rally is organised by Querdenken 711, a group founded in April 2020 that is calling for abandoning all restrictions and disbanding the Federal government.
Germany has registered 2,673 new cases on Friday, according to the WHO, which is a record for daily infections since mid-April. The number of deaths, however, remains relatively low, at under 100 since mid-May.
